Important Tour Info

First: Before the Show
Many things will vary based on the venue, but I can tell you a couple things you can and cannot bring. First, non professional cameras without detachable lenses are allowed, but no audio or video recording devices. We were allowed to bring backpacks, however they were searched, so don't think you can sneak in your $500 camera in your bag. Bottled water is allowed (no energy drinks or sodas), but you must remove the caps from them before entering, as there are no closed containers allowed. This is because closed containers can be filled and then sealed, and used as missiles.

Revolution Stage
The show kicked off at 11:45 (I didn't get there until around 3:00 PM, so this is based on the pamphlet), starting at the Revolution Stage. Each group had about 30-45 minute set. Styles of Beyond did not make it to this show, so each band probably got more time.

Booths
Each of the main sponsors had a booth (with the exception of Halo 3, which only had a Master Chief statue) with interactive stuff, ranging from the MLB Experience which included batting cages to Monster which had some kind of video game setup.

The merchandise booth carried tons of tee shirts from all the bands, with about a third of them being Linkin Park related. Almost all the shirts were $25-$30, with the sweatshirts being around $40 I believe. There are also various accessories ranging from Linkin Park hand bags to belts to hats. Also at the merchandise booth, you can purchase access to download Linkin Park's full set professionally recorded, for $11 (I would really recommend doing this early in the day, before they sell out). You will be given a small cd case, that includes a blank cd, and a slip that includes your own access code and information on how to purchase the songs. It is only available for Linkin Park, and not for any of the other bands. And for those of you who preordered Minutes to Midnight, you will know that there came with it a card that says "Bring this card to the Merchandise Booth at Projekt Revolution this summer and get a free limited edition gift". What is that gift you may ask? It's patch, and it cannot be purchased at all (the lady who gave me mine said there had already been a half dozen people trying to buy it).

The other special item is the Art Book. It features drawings and photographs from many of the artists on tour, including Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, and Styles of Beyond. The book is $30, with the proceeds from the book sales going to Music For Relief.

The Show
The show schedule (subject to change of course), is this

Revolution Stage: Doors 11:45 AM
Madina Lake: 12:45-1:05
Styles of Beyond: 1:15-1:40
The Bled: 1:50 - 2:20
Saosin: 2:30 - 3:00
Mindless Self Indulgence: 3:20 - 4:10

Main Stage: Doors 4:15 PM
Julien K: 4:35 - 5:05
Placebo: 5:15 - 5:50
HIM: 6:00 - 6:40
Taking Back Sunday: 6:55 - 7:35
My Chemical Romance: 7:50 - 8:50
Linkin Park: 9:20 - 11:00

The set times look to be pretty standard, as it was printed on the show pamphlet, which I assume will be the same for every show. Even more impressive, was that all the main stage bands were on time, as the crews were able to transition between bands right on time. So don't think you can arrive at 9:30 and not miss any of Linkin Park.

Feel free to post your tips and info.

Re: Important Tour Info

I thought I heard that the 2 stages were playing simultaneously?? If not, and this information is correct... does that mean if I really am only looking to watch the bands from the main stage, that I won't be even alllowed to my seat til doors open at 4:15?

I'm lookin for advice on when to get there if the first band I want to see is Placebo. ( I am seeing the show at tweeter center in camden/philly)
