U.S. Presidential Election 2008 Thread

This shall be the official thread for all discussion on this year's US Presidential election. I will be posting major updates in this thread.

Jan 3 - Barack Obama (woot!) and Mike Huckabee win Iowa caucuses. Dem. Sen. Chris Dodd drops out.

Jan 8 - Sen. John McCain is projected to win the New Hampshire primary on the Republican side, and Clinton is projected to narrowly win on the Democratic side.

To be honest, I don't know exactly what each candidate stands for but as a person Barack Obama appeals the most to me. I like the fact that he can be the first black american president as well. So I hope he get's elected as the democratic presidential candidate.

I agree with Jome. ^^ I like the fact that he will be the first black American president. Plus Obama already got the majority. I'll be surprised if he loses.

I was surprised when I woke up and saw this. I thought Obama was almost sure to win New Hampshire.

We all did. The pre-vote polls had him winning by as much as 10%.

I think it's partly because Clinton got emotionel. That seems to appeal to a lot of people, especially the female voters.

Unfortunately, yeah, it probably did. But if she's going to get all emotional during just the election process, think of all the stress she'll be under if she is president. I def saw that moment as a weakness in her.
